The 5th International Phytocosmetics & Phytotherapy Congress (IPPC2017) was successfully held at University of Patras from 15th to 17th May, 2017, Patras Greece. http://www.phytoessence.org/IPPC2017. https://www.facebook.com/Phytocosmetics/. The main objective of IPPC2017 was to inform scientific investigations about new plant base ingredients and their uses in phytocosmetics and phytotherapy. An additional pre-Congress Workshop took place on 13th of May 2017.

It is with great sadness that we must inform you that our Emeritus Professor, Esteemed Colleague, Beloved Friend Paul Cordopatis passed away on October 16th, 2014.
Paul was much loved by everyone who came in contact with him, and the Laboratory of Pharmacognosy not only grieves the passing of its Founder and Director but the loss of a family member. We will all dearly miss a great man.
We are happy to announce you that Our Department has moved to the new building of the Faculty of Pharmacy. The new building is located next to the Preclinical Laboratories of the School of Medicine. It is bioclimatically designed by the famous Greek architect Alexandros Tombazis and provides ample light at every corner and creates an inspiring and functional environment to work in. The laboratories are fully equipped with fume hoods, safety storage cabinets according to the latest standards. The process of moving started in January and was completed in March!
The 32nd European Peptide Symposium was successfully held at the Megaron Athens Concert Hall from the 2nd to 7th September, 2012. More than 700 people from 40 different countries participated actively in the Symposium in a joyful atmosphere in a typical hot Athenian weather.
During the EPS Council Meeting at Athens, it was decided that Prof. Cordopatis will continue to be a member of the EPS Executive Committee for the next 4 years. Prof. Cordopatis currently serves as the Communication Officer of EPS.
A video was prepared presenting the main outputs of the collaboration of the Department of Pharmacognosy with the Department of Biology (Assist. Professor Marigoula Margarity) and the Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition, University of Maine (Prof. Dorothy Klimis-Zacas). The focus was on the outputs on the research on the neuroprotective potential of blueberries, a project which received a prize at the 2nd International Contest on Nutrition and Food Science Research of the A. Daskalopoulos Foundation in 2009.
